Gridiron Alumni allows the boys of Fall to play one more time.

After high school, only a handful of players go on to college.  After college, it’s pretty much over for everyone but a chosen few.

Why?

I am excited about the ability to give these former players the ability to play one more time.  As a bonus, I often allow those host schools to earn money for their schools OR charities through various ways including concessions, apparel, and carnival-like fairs.  These games draw a lot of people and the amount of money raised is only limited by your imagination and your willingness to work.

Meet the Founder

Chris Hall

Personal Bio: Chris was born and raised in Redding, CA. He went to Shasta High School in Redding, CA along with Shasta Junior College.  Chris attended Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA.  He graduated Magna Cum Lauded and earned a degree in Business Administration. Chris worked in sales and marketing for power house corporations such as Pfizer pharmaceuticals and Patterson Dental for the last 15 years.  He also has his hand in several successful businesses.  Chris fell in love with the concept of alumni football in 2008 in a game between his alma mater and their cross town rival.  He knows first hand that the event is transforming and wanted to be involved immediately. When the opportunity arose, Chris began Gridiron Alumni, Inc. and loves what he does.  He is has been married to his wife, Barbara, for over 16 years and they have a boy and a girl.

Professional Bio:  Chris is no stranger to business or sales.  He grew up in the family restaurant and started bussing tables at 12 years old.  After almost a decade of sales and management experience, he started working as a salesperson for Pfizer pharmaceuticals.  He was a Cardiovascular Specialist, calling on Cardiologists in Northern California and was often thought of as the go-to guy in his District and Region.  Although Chris was the most awarded and senior representative in Northern California, he was laid off in 2009.  Rather than jumping back into pharmaceuticals, he used this opportunity to find out what he wanted to be when he grew up. After playing in his first alumni football game, he knew he’d found his calling.  About 14 short months after, he incorporated his business and started buying equipment.  In February 2011, he put together his first game in his hometown.  The rest is history in the making.

Football Bio:  Chris was the MVP for the Northern Athletic League, All Superior California and a standout at Shasta Junior College.  While at Azusa Pacific, Chris earned national attention in his junior year as an Academic All-American.  His Senior year, he was picked as a Pre-Season All-American at Azusa.  He led the team in tackles both years he was there.  Chris also lends his talents to local football programs. In 2011, he coached a semi-pro team in Redding, call the Redding Heat and led them to an 11-2 record and a Northern Conference PCFL Championship. In 2012, he had a great time coaching his little girl’s flag football team.

Alumni Bio:  Chris is not just the creator of Gridiron Alumni, he’s an alumni football player, too!  He has played in 3 games in the last 3 years and plans on playing many others.  He was a 38 year old couch potato, like most of you.  When he heard about the game, he really didn’t know if he was going to play.  One of his buddies worked on him via Facebook and then finally convinced him, saying he had played in one for another team a while back.  When he finally decided to play, he said “No way I’m going out there to embarrass myself. I need to get in shape.”  He immediately started going to the local Crossfit.  If you want to get into the best shape of your life, join a fitness program like Crossfit.  It needs to be called “Athletic conditioning,” “Metabolic conditioning,” or something like that, lifting weights and running is not the same. It’s been a long time for some of you, but being “in shape” and being in “athletic condition” are two separate things.  His seriousness paid off.  He took home the Defensive MVP for my game, where they outscored their opponent 42-6.  As much as he enjoyed playing, he knew that he could take this idea and use his business sense, marketing, and sales skills to take it to the next level.
