GRIDIRON ALUMNI FOOTBALL SHOW

TITLE: GRIDIRON GREATS

LOGLINE: Every town has a football rivalry.  They are all the same, yet all unique. Gridiron Alumni would travel around the country, highlighting some of the fiercest and most unique high school football rivalries and put on an full contact alumni football game. The show would be about the rivalry itself, the players who are playing, and the game.

SYNOPSIS:

BACKGROUND

We started Gridiron Alumni in 2010. Since then, we have put on over 40 games. This year, we expect to do another 30 games. Our idea is to give guys a chance to play one more time. Football is one of the only sports where when you hang up your helmet, you’re done. You can keep playing basketball. You can keep play baseball, but you’re out of luck when it comes to football….

UNTIL NOW

We are excited to bring football back to those who have lost it. If you have ever played football before, you know that the comradery cannot be matched. It is an important drug that flows through our blood and we cannot shake the feeling that we can still do it. Gridiron Alumni provides men with not only the ability to play football one more time, but to reach that part of them that seemed like it was lost forever.

GRIDIRON ALUMNI AS A SHOW

Sure, this is a great idea and sounds like a ton of fun, but what makes it a show?

FOOTBALL IS #1 CONSUMED TELEVISION PRODUCT

Football is the #1 consumed product on television. US Consumers will sit down and watch hours and hours of football television on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays. Now, ESPN, NBC and other major networks are covering the Spring scrimmage games. Recently to market Esquire Network is doing a reality series about youth football in Texas.  Our country loves football. Football is what sells and we are football.

MAIN DEMOGRAPHICS AND GREAT STORIES

Our average player is a working class guy, mid 20’s to mid 30’s.  These games are exciting and well attended by the mid 20’s to mid 50’s male and female demographic. We feel that the appeal of this show lies with the interest in not only the rivalry, but with the kind of person who would play. These games cover the myriad of emotions. I have seen more grown men cry than hardly anybody I know. There is a spirtual connection with football and giving guys back their first love is a very emotional time. We also encourage EXCESSIVE celebration, so there are plenty of fantastic opportunites for touchdown dances and other choreographed celebrations.

We had players who have never played before because they got their girlfriend pregnant in high school and had to quit to get a job. We have had players play again, wearing the number of a deceased friend, brother, father, or fallen soldier. We have had a helicopter fly in a game ball. We have had police escorts of players as they travel from the locker room to the field. You name it, we can make it happen. here have even been marriage proposals on the field. Every week, we are guaranteed that there will be great football; good hits, great plays, etc. But we also know, there will be real people with real circumstances in real life.
